Epimedium epsteinii

An exceptional species, discovered in 1994 in Hunan Province, China, with broad white sepals that sharply contrast with the reddish-purple, long spurred petals. A good spreader, about 6-8” a year, and about 10” tall. Evergreen, with glossy green leaves, and can hold up to 30 flowers per stem. This species was named in honor of Harold Epstein, renowned plantsman from New York, a long time grower (over 50 years!) and advocate of Epimediums. z5
