Delphinium leucophaeum

A rare white flowered Delphinium, with a touch of blue in the center, to about 2'. Native to Oregon and Washington, but only remaining in a few small areas. It needs good drainage and full sun in the garden. This beautiful rare plant goes dormant in the summer, dying back to a tuber. In spite of some frigid weather in early December that turned many fleshy root systems and tender roots to mush, in pots that were left on nursery tables, these pleasantly surprised me by coming through the freeze just fine, with no damage whatsoever.
