Variegated Mock Orange
' A glamorous selection of our Pacific Northwest native Mock Orange, a chance variegated seedling that Rick Lupp of Mt Tahoma Nursery passed on to us, as variegated plants don’t quite fit his alpine nursery niche. It has a beautiful, stable, splashed variegation, and when it bloomed, well, we could hardly believe it – within each flower, each of the many stamens was widened and lengthened, becoming narrowly petaloid, forming a tuft inside each flower. Variegated and doubled! What are the odds? As the flowers on this species are clustered near the tips of the branches, the effect of the puffy flowers in full bloom are intensified 5 or 6 times. We love this plant. Thanks Rick ! z5
