Shipping & Returns

IMPORTANT SHIPPING INFORMATION :

We ship by USPS priority mail. Shipping is expensive and getting more so, like everything else. We, like most other mail order businesses, do not make money on shipping charges. The least we can hope for is to sort of break even.

We have set up a direct connection to the US Post office. They automatically figure the shipping cost of your order for us, to your area, based on the weight we have assigned to each plant. In addition, the shipping charge reflects a minimal $3.00 shipping and handling charge. Since the weight is only an estimate, some plants will weigh more, some less, and there may be a discrepancy between the actual shipping cost and what you paid. If this is so, I will refund the balance at the time of shipping. For example, if you paid $26.00 for shipping, and the actual cost of shipping was only $15.00, I will refund the balance, after accounting for the $3.00 packing charge. If we can use a flat rate box to save you some money, we will do so. Please note that all this takes extra precious time and effort, on our part, in our busiest season, and that this is service to our customer, as it is what I would like to see when we purchase plants from others. .

I am limiting my shipping dates to late March through May, then again in fall for a few weeks, but orders will be pulled as they come in, so first come, first served, even though your particular shipping date may come later than those who ordered after you.

Most of our plants are grown in 3 11/16 " pots, (referred to as 4" in the listings for convenience), or in comparable size pots for the size and type of root ball each plant develops. Some alpines and other small, slow growing species are grown in 2" pots. Occasionally a plant may be sent bare root, as Hosta or daylilies, or as dormant tubers.

RETURNS: We guarantee our plants to be well rooted, healthy, ready to grow and true to name. Please contact us within ten days of delivery if there is any problem with your order. We will be happy to work with you in any way necessary, but we cannot be liable for more than the purchase price of the plants.
